Congrats to Hannah Davis, the first MacMillan Lab PhD student to take on the comprehensive exam at Carleton. Hannah demonstrated exactly how it is done and earned the rare “pass with distinction”. We are all so proud. Congrats Hannah!!
The MacMillan Lab is excited to have Mahmoud and Serita rejoining the lab for concurrent MSc theses. Mahmoud and Serita both completed outstanding honours projects with Heath last year and will no doubt be just as successful in their MSc degrees. Welcome back!
We are pleased to welcome Hannah Davis, who joins the MacMillan Lab as a PhD student after completing an outstanding MSc on infection induced cannibalism in termites with Dino McMahon in Berlin. Hannah will be switching from behaviour to physiology to explore renal function in Drosophila!
Congrats to Kaylen Brzezinski, who did an outstanding job of defending her MSc and became the first MSc out of the MacMillan Lab at Carleton. Kaylen was the first (to our knowledge) to discover evidence of unidirectional leak of a marker across the gut epithelia of an animal!
